Sweat, Steel, and Sticky Bombs: The Vineyard Showdown

Sweat, Steel, and Sticky Bombs: The Vineyard Showdown

If you caught last night’s stream, you know that things got a little... careless. We’re officially into the meat of the Careless Casino Sessions, and if #002 taught us anything, it’s that the Duggan family doesn’t play by the rules, and neither does the GTA AI when it comes to self-preservation.

The Calm Before the Storm

We started the session at the Vinewood Residence, taking in a classic Australian sunset before heading to the Diamond. After a quick greeting from Pearl (who was in rare form with the purring), I decided to test my luck at the wheel. No car this time, but a Warstock discount is always a welcome win when you’re fast-tracking Bunker research as hard as I am lately.

Strong Arm Tactics: A Lessons in Masochism

The headline of the night was the mission "Strong Arm Tactics." On paper, it’s a simple meeting at a beautiful vineyard. In practice? It was a grueling, hour-long lesson in tactical positioning and resource management.

The meeting with Avery and Thornton Duggan went south faster than a Shinkansen on a downhill grade. Within seconds, the serene vineyard was transformed into a lead-filled warzone.

The Challenges:

  • The "Wet Tissue" AI: Protecting Tao Cheng and his translator is a full-time job. They have the survival instincts of a moth near a campfire.
  • Weapon Wheel Woes: Finding the right rhythm between the Combat MG and the Railgun was the difference between life and a "Mission Failed" screen.
  • Infinite Reinforcements: The Duggans clearly have a larger HR budget than I do, because the waves of guards and helicopters felt endless.

The Turning Point

After several restarts and a significant dent in my bank account from repurchasing Super Heavy Armor and ammo, I finally found the "sweet spot." If you’re struggling with this mission solo, the key isn't the Railgun—it's the vantage point. Moving away from the NPCs to a stone pillar near the terrace allowed me to pick off snipers without being caught in a crossfire.

We eventually cleared the vineyard and survived a frantic, high-speed chase to Pacific Bluffs, narrowly escaping the Duggan helicopters that seemed more aggressive than Merryweather on their worst day.

The Damage Report

One hour. One mission. A lot of sweat.

It was an expensive session, both in GTA dollars and mental energy, but we cleared it. As I said on the stream, you never know what you’re going to get with these sessions, and that’s exactly why we do it. We’re one step closer to that Paragon R, and I’m not stopping until it’s in the garage.

Stay strapped, stay golden, and I’ll see you in the next session.
