Careless Gerald Sessions #003: Soloing the "Impossible" Finale

Careless Gerald Sessions #003: Soloing the "Impossible" Finale

If there is one thing I’ve learned about GTA Online, it’s that Rockstar Games and their servers have impeccable timing. Just as I sat down for last night’s stream—ready to wrap up the final two missions of the Gerald’s Last Play series—the servers decided to take a quick nap.

But as the GGXCO community knows, we don’t let a "server bungle" stop the grind. Here is the recap of how I survived Level 101 vs. the finale.

The "Bungle-Free" Method

Before we even got into the lead, I had to navigate the menus. If you’ve ever struggled with missions not appearing in order, I found the "bungle-free" way to do it. Instead of waiting for a text or a trigger point, jump straight into:

  • Online > Jobs > Play Job > Rockstar Created > Missions
  • Scroll down to Last Play.

It’s the cleanest way to ensure you aren't wasting time in a loading screen loop.

Mission 1: End Product

The first half of the session was all about the End Product mission. This one was a high-speed game of "whack-a-mole" across Los Santos. I spent most of the time clearing out Salva henchmen across four different locations.

  • The Highlight: Pulling off some "parkour" moves at the construction site in Alta to flush out the boss.
  • The Lesson: Even with a Paragon R (Armored Edition), the NPC aim is getting scarily precise. Always check your armor before you spook the boogeyman.

The Sweaty Finale: Bad Companies

Then came the big one. The finale of the series, and let me tell you, it earned the title "Impossible Mission."

Driving the Mule Custom felt like a throwback to '08, but the nostalgia ended the second we hit the deal location. It was a total setup. I spent the better part of the hour in a "sweaty" shootout, fighting off waves of enemies from the ground and the roofs.

"I'm sweating in my darn sweater." — A direct quote from yours truly when the third wave of reinforcements arrived.

I eventually found a tactical cover spot (okay, maybe a slight "glitch spot") that allowed me to bottle-neck the NPCs. After a few restarts and a lot of snacks, the deal finally went down, and Gerald got his retirement fund.

Final Verdict on Gerald’s Last Play

Is it worth doing solo? Yes, for the challenge. No, if you value your blood pressure.

Even as a Level 101 player, that finale is a beast. If you're going to attempt it, I highly recommend bringing a crew or at least a very large supply of heavy armor.

What’s Next for GGXCO?

With all six of Gerald’s missions now ticked off, we are moving on to something new.

  • Wednesday Stream: We’re going to keep it "chill." Something we can tackle in about an hour without the high-stress shootouts.
  • Next Week: A brand-new series begins.

Stay Golden
